Villa Mathilda, Alleins
Mathilde De Marchi, Decorator
Interior design & ecological house
I worked long in the world of fashion as a stylist, before addressing the architecture and decoration.
Having lived in London, Milan and Paris, I settled in southern France. I like to draw my plans to blood and graphite, as was done previously. Each stage of a project arouses all my interest, the development of plans, construction and renovation until the final stage of decoration.
My last project, in Alleins was truly the opportunity to undertake the beginning to completion, a full renovation. A challenge, but also a very rich experience. When I discovered this old mansion, she was in an advanced state of disrepair. From the roof to floors, everything was restored. But the interest of old buildings, is that they retain a soul, and that the materials used to maintain a true nobility. I tried, thinking this place with the comfort that a home today can be expected to respect his lines and his first composition. To this end, I chose to preserve large volumes, and work with sustainable materials such as wood, wrought iron.
Very sensitive to ecology, all my projects include new and environmentally friendly materials.
